Billco’s Titan Washer Now Available
The Titan glass washing system, the newest product from Billco Manufacturing in Zelienople, Pa., is now available. The system was re-designed to reduce and simplify daily maintenance requirements. Configurable cleaning zones, reformulated roll covering and enhanced air knife design improve the performance and efficiency of the washer. A new low-profile, stainless steel design minimizes floor space and reduces the machine’s residual contaminants. Various energy efficient components reduce energy consumption for optimal return-on-investment.
Automated IG System Accommodates a Variety of Spacers
For flexibility in the type of spacer used, Bystronic Glass Inc. in Hauppauge, N.Y., offers its automated First’flexspacer insulating glass manufacturing system. First’flexspacer is a fast, fully automatic vertical insulating glass line for processing a variety of spacers, including rigid (box) spacers, thermoplastic (TPS) spacers and flexible spacers. The line is designed in a strictly modular construction, permitting different stages of automation. For example, the line may be installed initially in a basic configuration providing for manual secondary sealing, but may subsequently be enhanced by adding modules, such as an automatic CNC sealing robot, to improve productivity in parallel with the growth of business. The system accommodates glass sizes from 63 inches wide by 98 inches long up to 106 inches wide and more than 157 inches long.
Tenon Completes IG Units in 25 Seconds
IGE Solutions Inc. in Jupiter, Fla., is offering an insulating glass line by Tenon that it says is able to produce a completed unit in 25 seconds.The line is available in 78 or 98 inches and comes with a self-diagnostic system and a touch-screen computer. The stainless steel washer features either six or eight brushes, and includes low-E glass detection. The outfeed conveyor features a frequency converter to enhance transfer speed, while the pre-assembly conveyor has two-sided positioning. A stop bar and dual sensor system on the assembly conveyor maintain precise assembly, according to the company. E-Z RAD System Simplifies IG Grid Fabrication
Edgetech in Cambridge, Ohio, is offering the patent-pending E-Z RAD system, a vertical work station designed to simplify the cutting, assembly and installation of muntin pattern designs in shaped glass IG units. The E-Z RAD system, with a base of 24 by 96 inches and height of 84 inches, can handle the most simple starburst and sunburst patterns to the most complex combinations. The system utilizes three main components: the E-Z RAD table, Edgetech Intelliclip technology and E-Z RAD specially designed muntin clamping rings. The E-Z RAD benefits include reduced time and minimized waste material from muntin pattern fabrication and assembly and decreased installation time. It also enables precise placement into the unit, while eliminating contamination of the glass and air space. No assembly is required, and there are no power or air requirements.
Sommer & Maca Provides Complete IG Lines or Additions Sommer & Maca in Cicero, Ill., offers complete insulating glass (IG) systems suitable for manufacturers with production needs of 50 to 575 units per shift. A variety of system options are available to accommodate various custom configurations. In addition to complete, turn-key IG lines, the company is able to supply component pieces for existing lines, including vertical or horizontal glass washers, sealing equipment or hydraulic loading/tilt tables.
LISEC Applicators Now Support Dura Platform
Glass fabrication equipment from Lisec America Inc. in Eagan, Minn., now supports TruSeal’s Dura Platform warm-edge spacer systems for insulating glass (IG). The move to support the Dura Platform follows the company’s strategy to offer equipment solutions for all flexible spacer systems. Lisec offers a number of machines for the application of flexible spacer bars in different grades of automation. The fully automatic VSA compact application robot for flexible spacer bars, for example, attaches flexible spacer tapes from rolls onto glass sheets.
