Question about Sliding Glass Earthquake Doors<\/h2>\n

Dear Glass Detective,<\/em><\/p>\n

I am building a preserve shelf and want to put in a sliding glass door- I am in Earthquake country so want to keep the preserves from falling in the event of an earthquake. What is best for my project?<\/em><\/p>\n

Thank you for contacting the Glass Detective regarding your request for some help with an upcoming project using \u201cEarthquake\u201d doors. Unfortunately, I am probably not going to be of much help here. Earthquake doors come in a number of different configurations and with functions that are not always similar. For instance, there are some doors designed to not be able to lock and some designed to lock during an earthquake event. There are some that will incorporate glass into them and others that do not.<\/p>\n

Being from the Midwest, the Glass Detective has very little experience or knowledge regarding these specialized types of doors. My suggestion is that you find a reputable and experienced supplier on the west coast and work with them.<\/p>\n
